The Shambling Mound's Tenth Week

The Shambling Mound's Ninth Week

There is something special about a shambling mound. Whilst composed of rotting vegetable matter they are semi-intelligent, and although perhaps quite at the level to satisfy constitutional requirements for Lord Mayor of the Global Village, the sometimes can move in an apparent willful direction. At others times however, their movements seem completely random, directed by their emotions alone. And so it was this week.

The Shambling Mound's Eighth Week

The shambling and lurching made it through the eighth week with what has become the usual levels of deception, horror, and mania. Is it sheer incompetence? Is it the a ploy to exhaust his opoonents? Is it a new entertainment show for those on distant shores and less affected by such events? As these things are not actually in contradiction, perhaps all are true.

West Australian Election 2017: Bring your gauges

The results of the West Australian state election last night are certainly quite dramatic with the incoming Labor government gaining over 10% of the vote in a two-party preferred basis and on-track to increase their parliamentary representation from 21 to 40 or more.

The Shambling Mound's Seventh Week

It was an fascinating week watching the lurchings of the Shambling Mound, Lord Dampnut, with trajectories towards the ridiculous, the improbable, and the unfair dominating the headlines. Never one for shortage of content, Lord Dampnut continues to shake up the United States in a manner that leaves more level minds nonplussed (nota bene: this may mean the opposite to what you think it means - look it up).

The Shambling Mound's Sixth Week

My goodness, has the orange monster, Lord Dampnut, made through six whole weeks as mayor of the world's most important local council? And what a strange week it was, an ongoing war on the media, Russian connection claims that just will not go away, and big promises in a congressional speech that showed and aversion to facts.

The Shambling Mound's Fifth Week

The lurching continues! The week began with the savvy explanation by Lord Dampnut that the media is the enemy of the people. Several individuals made the point that describing a press independent of the government in such a way is usually a rather totalitarian attitude.

The Shambling Mound's Fourth Week

One must admire, if only from an aesthetic level, the sheer chutzpah of Lord Dampnut who holds press conference to claim "I turn on the TV, open the newspapers, and I see stories of chaos. Chaos. Yet it is the exact opposite. This administration is running like a fine-tuned machine." Ahhh, Lord Dampnut. The art of the double-down, where reality can be altered by sheer will power and bluster.

The Shambling Mound's Third Week

Under the continuing rule of the orange-haired monster, Lord Dampnut, the most important local council in the global village, continues to lurch from one "yuge" problem to the next. Some commentators have finally noticed what is an intrinsic problem regardless of the political decisions themselves; that Lord Dampnut is not used to the idea of running a country which is built the checks and balances of a separation of powers and a rule of law.

The Shambling Mound's Second Week

The chaos continues, as The Shambling Mound completes its second week as elected mayor of the most important local council in the global village. After introducing new levels of madness in his first week, Lord Dampnut turned his attention to foreign affairs. After all, a suffrance shared is a suffrance doubled, and we all know how Lord Dampnut loves things big.
