As a general rule I don't like to dignify Murdoch's brown shirts at the Daily Telegraphy by commenting on the vicious hatred that spews from the pages of this septic rag, but I take great exception at today's front page. Four generations of my family have served in the Australian military and I don't take kindly to them, or anyone else who has defended this nation, being used by gutless bigots in an attempt to disguise their cruelty as patriotism.
As the standard bearer for the corruption and nepotism that has become the hallmark of Australian politics today the Telegraph has called people on Disability Support Pensions "slackers". Having fulfilled its role of ushering in the Abbott government and guaranteeing a $900 million dollar payout for their boss's tax scam, the Telegraph has now turned its attention to securing the Murdoch empire's age of entitlement. While Rupert Murdoch laughs at us from the other side of the word, his minions at the Telegraph set about dividing the nation, turning society on its most vulnerable and diverting blame for the mugging most Australians copped on budget night away from the people who cashed in on it.
When George Brandis spoke of people having a right to be bigots, it was these bottom feeders at the Telegraph he was talking about. Well the Abbott government may be prepared to go over the top for a pack of con artists who will willingly attack the most vulnerable Australians just to turn a quick buck for their American boss, but no digger ever did. I don't believe anyone ever fought for this country so that cowardly bullies could call people with disabilities slackers, that's the sort of thing they were fighting against.
