What's good about being an Aussie is that at the last election four One Nation candidates were elected to parliament - as opposed to 9 Indigenous candidates, 3 practising Muslims (including our first female one), 9 LGB candidates (with the first transgender Aussie candidate gaining a 1.2% swing for their party) and 18 candidates from a non-English speaking background.
What's good about being an Aussie is that the party in government, the party in opposition and the majority of the mainstream media has, with increasing hysteria, argued that there is no alternative to an inhumane asylum seeker policy - yet an increasing number of Aussies (including pretty much all the ones I care about) know there is.
What's good about being an Aussie is that a racist piece of garbage who is no good to anyone can pretend to be a patriot - and most Aussies see a racist piece of garbage.
