Twelve Rubbish "Experts" On COVID-19

Some of you may have come across a pieced entitled "12 Experts Questioning the Coronavirus Panic". And I'll give them some credit; they've actually found twelve people who, as they put it "contradict the official narratives of the MSM, and the memes so prevalent on social media". Ooh, so this is the alternative narrative, is it? When the weight of mainstream scientific opinion is up against twelve, perhaps we should give them equal consideration? Or perhaps proportional consideration would be more legitimate?

Perhaps even less than proportional. Let us have a look at some of the people in question and their ill-considered opinions:

Dr Sucharit Bhakdi, who retired in 2012, put out some Youtube videos in March 19-22. He says in one of them"All these measures are leading to self-destruction and collective suicide based on nothing but a spook". But when fact-checked the numbers he cites are too low, and worse still, he ignores the effects of exponential growth.

Dr Wolfgang Wodarg, believes that this is just the same as any other seasonal illness and that government policy is been directed by a group of self-interested physicians. Perhaps it's just like any other seasonal respiratory illness, just ten times deadly and more infectious. A lengthy response could be given, but the following paragraph from Wikipedia will suffice in summary.

"His comments on the COVID 19 pandemic caused criticism from German scientists. Various German media examined Wodarg's claims for accuracy and concluded that his statements would largely contradict the verifiable facts, some statements were neither refutable nor verifiable, but on closer examination proved to be misleading. It would mix up facts that had nothing to do with each other"

Dr Joel Kettner, writing in March 17, says: "But I've never seen this reaction, and I'm trying to understand why."

The first 100,000 confirmed diagnoses took from December to March, the second from March 5 to 17, and the third from March 18 to 21, and the fourth from March 22 to 24, and the fifth from March 25 to 26, the sixth from March 27 to 28, and by March 29, it was over 700,000.

Maybe that's got something to do with it, Dr. Joel?

Dr John Ioannidis, who also seems to believe that numbers are static argues: "If we had not known about a new virus out there, and had not checked individuals with PCR tests, the number of total deaths due to “influenza-like illness" would not seem unusual this year. "

When he published those words, less than two weeks ago, the number of confirmed infections was under 200,00. It is now over 700,000. The US death toll was 112. It is now over 1700. That is unusual.

Dr Yoram Lass, following suit, "In every country, more people die from regular flu compared with those who die from the coronavirus."

Since 'flu season started in October 2019, over 2.7 million cases of flu were recorded in Italy, resulting in 240 deaths. Italy has had over 10,000 deaths from COVID-19.

I'm only half-way through and the best anti-mainstream "experts" seem to have a common theme; a strong variance with the facts. I could continue, but this should suffice. They're wrong. The question is how many corpses need to pile up, before they have the intellectual humility and moral courage to admit it.
