Major progress by the Iraqi army in Mosul. They've almost completely cleared the eastern half of the city now.
The Kurds have also been making progress against ISIS, but Turkey is now making aggressive motions towrds the Kurdish city of Manbij. There's a decent chance that Turkish military action in that area could severely damage the campaign against ISIS, and it could even lead to the death of US troops. This is a time for strong leadership. Unfortunately, the president-elect seems to be preoccupied with the fact that people are laughing at him. If Turkey starts firing on US positions, I'm sure he'll respond to that act of war by sending them a love letter and thanking them for their kindness.
