In recent months Damien has been working with others on new practical policy changes that can be implemented and has now been raising the proposals with Federal MPs. This meeting will give some insight on the strategic direction that will be raised in coming months.
The wide-ranging discussion includes the issue of the global context, current policy, UNHCR funding, Temporary Protection Visas, the size of the humanitarian intake, processing centres, the Australian migration zone, the Bali process, the Refugee Convention in the region, and the use of the United Nations Security Council to prevent refugee conditions.
Please come along and feel free to forward this to others whom you think would be interested in seeker a new policy for asylum seekers.
The discussion is hosted by the Isocracy Network (http://isocracy.org).
