Kim of North Korea

Irrespective of what you think about the Kim family’s domination of North Korea during the past 70 years, they have hit the nail on the head linking their survival to the capacity of North Korea to develop a nuclear capability.

The concept of mutual destruction was the lubricant that kept the USA and the Soviet Union from launching all-out war. That doesn’t mean millions of people didn’t die in proxy wars that were fought by both sides on other people’s turf, what it meant was the human race didn’t have to face the possibility of a nuclear winter that could have meant the end of life on the blue planet.

In comparison to China and Russia the USA has a proven track record of interfering in other nations affairs to protect its economic and strategic interests. It’s the only society that has used nuclear bombs to pursue its interests. Kim’s regime understands implicitly with or without China’s support they need to go nuclear to protect their interests. If the unthinkable happens even if nuclear warheads are not used the death toll will be in the hundreds of thousands, let alone millions. North and South Korea have conventional artillery pieces in place just outside the demilitarised zone that could devastate Seoul, a city of over 12 million which lies just 45kms south of the demilitarised zone.

Even if North Korea implodes, the Chinese People’s Liberation Army is poised to enter North Korea and reinforce the North Korean Workers’ Party. The Kim family have demonstrated an uncanny ability to survive whatever the West and the US throws at it. If President Groper thinks he can use gunboat diplomacy to crush the North Korean regime, he has a lot to learn. He may find that if he decides to pull out his sabre North and South Korea will unite against him. Americans are beginning to learn the election of President Groper doesn’t necessarily mean the USA will be great again. The days of the USA being the only superpower in the world are long gone.

Unfortunately for Americans and the rest of the world, President Groper thinks that waving a big stick around is the way to “make America great again”. If president Groper is stupid enough (and he could be) to pursue the military option in North Korea, he will soon find he will have more enemies to deal with than any other American President has had to. Considering the US has lost every war it has been involved in since WWII, the future doesn’t look bright for all those Americans who will be sacrificed to boost President Groper’s ego.
