Day 26 and 27 of the Federal election campaign, and OMFG did you see Bill Shorten on Q&A?! Scott Morrison has told Q&A that he won't be making himself available to the tough questions (and they were tough), but Shorten answered the questions deftly and sincerely. It was, quite frankly, his best performance (he also committed to a review of Newstart payments - and not with a view of reducing them).

In policy news, Labor has promised "untouchable" funding for the NDIS. This comes on the back of a $1.6 billion underspend of cash budgeted for the NDIS was a big factor in the surplus forecasting for next year.

In questionable behaviour, Aged Care (isn't that going well?) Minister Ken Wyatt has made headlines as it has been found to have spent $750K on staff travel in 18 months, including including $108,000 in a year on an adviser subject to bullying claims.

Meanwhile office of Jobs Minister Kelly O’Dwyer and labour hire company WorkPac discussed a "legislative fix" and court options to address a landmark ruling on ­casuals, prompting ACTU claims the Coalition had "conspired" with the multinational to attack workers' rights.

Finally, the Managing Director of the ABC is facing "inevitable" job cuts and programming disruption if the Morrison government is returned to power, the national broadcaster's new managing director has warned. "If the Coalition is returned, then we have an $84 million budget reduction over the next three years".
