Coronavirus Children in Florida

Children in Florida are three times more likely to test positive than the general population, which is astonishing. I wonder if it has to do with lower rates of mask use. It could also be that children are less likely to be tested unless they've had contact with a confirmed case. Or they could be physiologically more susceptible to infection, even though they're much less susceptible to severe infection.

Of course, even though children are extremely unlikely to become severely infected, they can still spread the disease to more vulnerable people. Children's lungs are also damaged by the virus in ways that we still don't fully understand, so these kids could be set for some potentially serious health problems in the future.
The state’s outbreak continues to surge as new data reveal children may be more impacted than previously thought.
