According to Essential Research
(http://blogs.crikey.com.au/pollbludger/files/2012/04/Essential-Report_120423.pdf)
support for the Mining Resource Rent Tax is very high.

Only 7%	think they have	benefited a lot	or somewhat from Australia's
mining boom. 78% believe they have benefited a little or not at all.

37% think mining companies don't pay enough tax, 27% think they pay about
the right amount and 11% think they pay too much (!).

51% support the mining tax compared to 29% who disapprove. Over the past
six weeks this is an increase of net +18% to +22%.

The mining resource rent is supported by 77% of Labor and Green voters,
and 35% of LNP voters. 16% of Labor and Green voters "don't know", as do
15% of LNP voters.

Swinging that 15% "don't know" of LNP voters to support the mining
resource rent will bring it to about 50/50 among LNP supporters.
