Only 7% think they have benefited a lot or somewhat from Australia's mining boom. 78% believe they have benefited a little or not at all. 37% think mining companies don't pay enough tax, 27% think they pay about the right amount and 11% think they pay too much (!). 51% support the mining tax compared to 29% who disapprove. Over the past six weeks this is an increase of net +18% to +22%. The mining resource rent is supported by 77% of Labor and Green voters, and 35% of LNP voters. 16% of Labor and Green voters "don't know", as do 15% of LNP voters. Swinging that 15% "don't know" of LNP voters to support the mining resource rent will bring it to about 50/50 among LNP supporters.
